"SXSW Interactive is about what is happening now, and what's happening now is different than what was happening a year ago... An amorphous name for an amorphous concept." John Gruber, daringfireball.net
Established in 1994, the South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive Festival consists of four days of panel programming and keynotes, a Trade Show & Exhibition, plus a full schedule of exciting evening activities. The event brings together more than 5000 top-notch digital creatives from across the United States and around the world. These attendees share their inspirations about the future of the web, entrepreneurial opportunities, and the next wave of new technological innovation.
While we cover many of the how-to questions of emerging media, SXSW Interactive also pays particular attention to discussing the larger issues and long-term social implications brought about by these changes. The concurrent activities of SXSWeek (which includes the SXSW Film Conference & Festival and the SXSW Music Conference & Festival) means that some of the brightest minds in three different industries are in Austin during this time period. This confluence of brilliant thinkers makes SXSW Interactive a truly one-of-a-kind event.
